Curran congratulates the North Dublin City & County Regional Drugs Task Force
Today (29/10/09), John Curran T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs with responsibility for the National Drugs Strategy met with representatives from the North Dublin City & County Regional Drugs Task Force which covers parts of North Dublin City and Fingal.
Speaking after the meeting, the Minister of State congratulated the North Dublin City & County Regional Drugs Task Force on their work to date;
“I am delighted that my Department continues to fund a Task Force that has contributed so much to tackle drug misuse over the past number of years. Their experience and ability in these areas cannot be overstated and I congratulate them on their achievements to date”.
The Minister of State continued: “In 2009 we have allocated €730,640 to the Task Force to support a wide range of programmes in the area including rehabilitation, education, prevention and research. The newly established Office for the Minister for Drugs will be working intently with the North Dublin City & County Regional Task Force to ensure that resources are directed in a targeted and effective manner”.
