Curran welcomes Council action on Taxi Ranks in Clondalkin
South Dublin County Council’s Roads Department has proposed to provide new additional Taxi ranks in Clondalkin, according to Minister of State and local Fianna Fáil T.D. John Curran.
Welcoming this proposal Minister Curran said: “This is a welcome proposal by South Dublin County Council. Over the past number of months there have been many calls made to my Clondalkin office from local businesses and residents complaining about the congestion around Quinlan’s and The Village Inn area of Clondalkin village. This has been an ongoing problem for some time now with cars being illegally parked on the pedestrianised areas.
I very much welcome additional parking ranks for taxi drivers in Clondalkin Village, however if the council proceed in providing additional taxi ranks they must do so in conjunction with an overall parking plan for the whole of Clondalkin Village and it’s surrounds,” concluded Minister Curran.
