Funding Boost for Local Schools – Curran
A number of local schools are set to benefit from capital funding in order to carry out essential small scale works, according to local Fianna Fáil T.D. John Curran.
Welcoming the news, Minister Curran said: “St Joseph’s College, Lucan and Holy Family National School, Rathcoole have been given the go ahead from the Department of Education to receive funding under the Summer Works Scheme 2010. This funding will allow the schools to carry out essential upgrade and repair works on the schools during the quiet summer months.
“Lucan Community College and St. Peter Apostle JNS, Neilstown have also been approved funding by the Department in order for them to carry out works that improve access to their schools for students with disabilities.
The Building Unit of the Department of Education will be in contact with each school shortly in relation to the amount of funding approved for each project.
“This funding will provide for better learning environments in each school and I am delighted these works will be carried out while students are on their summer break causing the least amount of disturbance possible,” concluded Minister Curran.
